Rates applying on January 1, 2003: institutional films and videos for information, training or promotional purposes.

For the first 50 copies: a flat fee of 1 € (excluding VAT) per second.

MULTIMEDIA PROGRAM INSERTS

This covers multimedia programs inserted free of charge in periodicals sold to the public (magazines, publications and/or reviews) and which fulfill all the following conditions:

• the multimedia product must include reproductions of musical works not previously performed or which were marketed for the first time at least 6 months prior to the release of the periodical
• the packaging of the multimedia product must include the clear statement, marked in a way legible to the customer: “Gift …- Not for sale”
• the multimedia product must be made available to the end customer without any increase in the standard price of the periodical.
• the marketing of the periodical and of its multimedia program must comply with regulations applying to sales with bonus packages.

The rights charged are to be calculated per minute of music protected by copyright included on the multimedia product concerned. Each minute begun, running less than 30 seconds, will incur half the fee applying to a full minute; each minute begun running between 30 and 60 seconds will incur the full fee applying to one minute.The declining fee scale is linked to the number of units manufactured for any one product reference, according to the following scale:

When lodging the request for authorization with SESAM prior to manufacturing, the Producer pays 60% of the rights due. The remainder must be paid within 70 days of the initial marketing of the product in question, after subtracting figures for articles returned to the Producer as defective and certified as such by SESAM officers, given that such products returned are to be destroyed and will be held at one single point which will be accessible to such officers.

COPIES INTENDED FOR PUBLIC OR PRIVATE USE AND MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FREE OF CHARGE

A flat fee of 0.01448 € (excl. VAT) per minute and per copy is charged.
